I AM directed by the Secretary of State for India in Council to acknowledge the receipt of Sir Francis Campbell's letter of the 30th April, regarding the prohibition of the importation of opium into Szechuan, and to say that he concurs in Sir F. Grey's proposal to approve Mr. Max Müller's action as reported in his despatch No. 102 of the 8th April.
